What the client wanted

Alcoholic favourite Jägermeister wanted to create a new portfolio of point-of-sale and marketing collateral, something that reflected not only the cool nature of the drinks brand but also its German brewing heritage.

Motion Mapping was approached to see if our clever use of visual technology could create stunning still and moving images within the Jägermeister factory in Hanover, Germany, where the art, science and passion that goes into the tasty spirit is plain to see.

Jägermeister hoped to create a new set of modern visuals to use across its estate, images that would resonate with its young adult audience.

Our concept

We knew there would be iconic brewing equipment in the Jägermeister factory, from large, wooden barrels where the liqueur is aged, to towering metal vessels where the secretive mix of herbs and ingredients is brought together in the first stages of creating a 35%-proof drink that always goes down a bomb.

We intended to use artwork supplied by the Jägermeister marketing team and then use our projector hardware and software to best display it in innovative ways that would make for standout marketing material.

The result

We were not disappointed by the visual opportunities presented by the Hanover factory. We were able to project large and distinct marketing messages across groups of stacked wooden barrels, and tighter messages at the end of a single barrel. The larger volume barrels also made an atmospheric screen for photographic projections. It all came together so well.

In the brewing area, large shiny metal vessels became ideal backdrops for marketing messages and images.

All in all, a place that would ordinarily be awe-inspiring for any fan of the Jägermeister drink was transformed into a cool and innovative marketing canvas for the day.
