When Park Row – London’s DC Comics-inspired restaurant – wanted to take guests deeper into the world of Gotham, Motion Mapping made it happen. Using discreetly mounted projectors and expertly mapped visuals, we transformed a private dining room into a fully immersive Gotham City experience.
Park Row, the world’s first DC Comics-inspired restaurant in Soho, London, decided to take its already unique and sophisticated dining experience to the next level.
They asked our team to transform one of their rooms into a private party space that could be brought to life through the power of projection. The goal: a room where the four walls could shine with Gotham-inspired visuals, immersing diners and revellers in the dark and mysterious spirit of Batman’s Gotham City.
To ensure a seamless effect in the room, we used inconspicuous ceiling-mounted projectors to create a more immersive experience by removing much of the equipment from a person’s eyeline. These four projectors then cast content onto the walls seamlessly, leaving no gaps or joints for a smooth, realistic visual.
We provided 10 unique pieces of content for the restaurant, loaded up onto the management system for the room. The restaurant or private dining guests could use a tablet to select their content, from a stormy sky above the Gotham City skyline to a sparkling galaxy of twinkling stars. We also made it possible for guests to upload their own content for projection to create a truly personalised dining experience.
Picture sitting amongst friends and eating, drinking, and socialising amongst the captivating and immersive visuals of Gotham City. The WOW factor of this experience was the impact felt by the private diners surrounded by crystal clear animations, made possible by expert projection mapping, hidden projectors, and easy-to-operate system management for users. We wanted to ensure party goers would feel as immersed as possible, leaving them with an evening they wouldn’t forget – and plenty to share with friends and family on social media, offering a boost for the restaurant itself.
