Lighting Up Stonehenge for Paul Oakenfold
Film: Lighting up Stonehenge for Paul Oakenfold's first live DJ set among the stones, visuals mapped onto the monument.
Paul Oakenfold was the first DJ to play a live set at Stonehenge, to 50 guests wearing silent disco headphones, and we projected onto the stones for him. A monument like this has to be handled with great respect, and the timings reflected that. Our small crew had half an hour between the site closing to the public and the guests arriving to get the kit in and set up.
The content was mapped stone by stone. As the sun went down, each stone took on its own moving image while the music played in everyone’s headphones, and one guest told us afterwards they had a bit of a moment in the middle of the stones. Read about the night in our Stonehenge case study.
