Making Magic with Hologauze
Film: a magic potion made with Holotronica hologauze and an Epson 15,000 lumen projector, by the Motion Mapping team.
When our creative director’s seven year old came home with a school project to make a potion, the team took it a few steps further. We set up a 3 m by 2 m sheet of Holotronica Hologauze, an Epson 15,000 lumen projector and an ultra short throw lens, and made the potion appear in mid air.
The film shows how it came together. Hologauze is almost invisible under light, so the projected image seems to float with nothing behind it. We use the same idea on bigger jobs, such as the gauze ghosts in Rennie’s Halloween advert.
